Welcome to SCORR

Summer warmth greeted all those who came out on Saturday to the newly refurbished Eagle Speedway for the season opener of the 2009 SCORR Championship series. New fencing, guard rails, mud pit and stands make for a safer and more entertaining experience for all. Improvements for 2009 could be seen not only in the track and trucks, but also in our new scoring system. In order to assure our fans the best possible action though out the entire show we are now giving trucks 5 bonus points per completed round. This puts a stronger emphasis on making repairs between rounds as the bonus points may be the deciding factor for the Championship.

The Mikey G’s Smokin’ Café/Mikey’s Emporium Stock Class saw some of the wildest action of the day with Rick Murauwski’s three strong runs leading to his first place finish. Following close behind was high flying Mike Paradiso, with Mike Kroll, Keith Wyatt, and Jack Giangrosso rounding out the top 5.

Picking up where he left off in 2008, Kevin Morrissy’s Crazy Horse drove away from the rest of the field of Bri Mic Construction Limited Modifieds. Crazy Horse posted the second overall fastest time of the day and was within 2 seconds of the fastest Pro Truck time. “Stormin’ Norman” Anderson and his Split Personality finished a close second. Joe Merecki’s Mud Puppy and the Thrill Billy of Jason Bifaro had strong runs after a rough 2008 coming in third and fourth, respectively. Dan Merecki came in a close fifth. With less than two second between third and seventh the Limited Mod Class could be shaping up to be one of the tightest contest of the year.

Four time and reigning Anything Automotive Pro Trucks champion Tommy Ferber survived a broken axle in the first round and posted the fastest time of the day in Puddle Jumper. Ferber was able to hold of Ron Peterson’s Bandit in one of the best side-by-side pairings of the day. Tim Howard and Dazed & Confused finished third after suffering a steering failure and missing the final round. Pat Winchester debuted his new “Twisted Fate” truck in style with three consistent runs and a fourth place finish. Fifth place went to Tony Martinez in Dodgin’ Bullets.

Stock Mud Drag action was led by Buster, followed by Keith Wyatt, Jimmy “Elvis”, John Paradiso, and Hank Paul.

Pro Mud drag was won by Eric Schweic's Six Pak in a blazing fast 4.6sec, by far the fastest time of the day. Tony Gernsti came in second with Code Blue.
