CHAMPIONS ARE CROWNED!!!

Saturday’s cool and drizzly conditions caused the postponement of the race, but let to perfect track conditions for seventh, and final, round of the 2009 SCORR Championship series. Sunday’s more seasonable weather greeted the crowd as they streamed into Eagle Speedway.

The Mikey G’s Smokin’ Café/Mikey’s Emporium Stock class had the closest points race coming into the event with three drivers within ten points of the lead. Kevin Morrissey was able to take the day in the Team 420 to take the win and secure the championship. Rick Murawski put it up on 2 wheels in the corners trying to make up time and was rewarded with second place. It may have taken him the destruction of two trucks, but ‘Mad’ Mike Kroll as able to take third for the day. Art York’s “Battle Cruiser” and Bill Geary’s “Scrambled Eggs” both had their strongest finishes of the year coming in fourth and fifth respectively.

Stormin’ Norman Anderson lived up to his name as his “Split Personality” took the prize in the Bri-Mic Construction Limited Modified Class. His blazing 38.91sec run was the overall fastest time of the day. The Thrillbilly lived up to its name as Jason Biffaro was able to secure the Championship with his second place finish. Mike Case and his big red Liquid Suspension stayed on all four wheels this time in a strong third place run. Wayne Solly’s Off The Wall came in fourth, followed by the Mud Puppy and Joe Merecki in fifth.

Tim Howard and his Dazed and Confuzed truck took the Anything Automotive Pro Truck class. Pat Winchester’s second place was enough to win the class Championship with Twisted Fate. Crazy Horse and Kevin Morrissey edged out Ray Warrior in the Screamin’ Demon for third place. Dam Merecki rounded out the top five.

For the second event in a row no one was able to conquer the mud bog. Ed Gruth came the closes with his 99’3” run. Harold Hatfield came in second followed closely by William John. Joel Speck concluded his Championship season with a fifth place finish.

We would like to thank our sponsors Mikey’s Emporium/Mikey G’s Smokin Café, Bri-Mic Construction, Anything Automotive, Mr. Mugs & Awards, and Rock And Roll To The Rescue.

Check back soon for more information about the Awards Party on November 7th!!!
